1. Who I am

I'm Debbie West, a sole trader trading as Debbie West Pilates, The Tarka Clinic, Paiges Lane, Barnstaple, North Devon, EX31 1EF. I decide how your personal information is used. For anything about your information, email support@debbiewestpilates.co.uk.

2. What I collect and why

  • When you contact me: your name, email, subject and message, so I can reply. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in answering you.
  • My newsletter: your email address, to send you news about classes, retreats and workshops. I only add you if you sign up and confirm, and you can unsubscribe at any time. The lawful basis is your consent.
  • Your account, purchases and membership: your email to sign you in; your name, email, billing address and country from your payment; what you've bought; your membership, payments and refunds; the classes you've joined; and which recordings you've started watching, which affects your right to cancel. I use these to give you what you've paid for and to send your confirmations and reminders. The lawful basis is our contract, and the law where I must keep records or send notices.
  • Your health questionnaire: if you join live classes, the answers you choose to give, so I can suggest changes for you. This is health information. The lawful basis is your explicit consent, given on the form. Only I see it, and I never share it.
  • Live class recordings: I record live Zoom classes to offer them as class recordings. If you unmute and speak, the raw recording can include your voice, and your video while you're speaking; I edit you out before any recording is sold. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in offering class recordings.
  • Keeping my forms safe: a spam check on the contact and newsletter forms, and a short-lived count of requests from your connection. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in protecting the site.
  • Site visits: cookie-free statistics on which pages are visited, with no information that identifies you. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in running the site.

3. Who I share it with

I never sell your information. These companies handle it for me, only to provide their service:

  • Vercel: hosts the website and its visit statistics.
  • Supabase: the website's database and sign-in.
  • Stripe: takes payments and sends receipts.
  • Resend: sends the website's emails.
  • Mailchimp: sends my newsletter.
  • Cloudflare: the spam check on my forms.
  • Bunny: streams class recordings.
  • Zoom: runs live classes and records them.
  • Jotform: holds the health questionnaire.

Some of these companies are in the US, or store information there. Those transfers rely on the UK–US data bridge or on standard contractual clauses approved for the UK.

4. How long I keep it

  • Messages through the contact form: 2 years from your last message.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Your account: while it's open, then 2 years.
  • Purchases, memberships, payments and refunds: 6 years, as the tax rules require.
  • Emails about your membership: 6 years.
  • Which recordings you've started watching: as long as the purchase record.
  • Raw class recordings and their chat: up to 12 months.
  • Health questionnaire answers: while you're a client, plus 2 years after your last class.
  • The spam-check count: about an hour.

5. Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in. The website's shop keeps your basket in your browser. Videos and maps load only if you press Play or Show map; YouTube or Google may then set their own cookies.

6. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask me to correct or delete it, ask me to limit or stop using it, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email support@debbiewestpilates.co.uk, and I'll reply within a month.

If you're unhappy with how I've used your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

7. Children

My classes, recordings and memberships are for people aged 18 and over, and I don't collect children's information.

8. Changes

If I change this notice, I'll update the date at the top.
